About Renno

Renno is the payment rail for renovation. Homeowners fund a project once and approve each milestone when the work is done. Builders get paid instantly, without chasing. Both sides see exactly where the money is.

We are live in Amsterdam and London and hiring the team that opens the next markets.

From Mark, CEO. Renovation is a market worth close to a trillion euros a year that still runs on chasing invoices and hoping for the best. Builders wait weeks for money they have earned. Homeowners hand over their savings with no protection. We are fixing both, one city at a time. If you want to own a number and a city, let’s talk. Watch this video to learn more about the product.

The Role

This is a B2B content and lead generation role. Renno speaks to builders and homeowners in the Netherlands and the UK at the same time, in Dutch and English, across a trade that barely reads marketing. You own the content engine end to end: the blog and the search strategy behind it, the campaigns that turn reading into leads, the social channels, the creator and ambassador programme, the founder's voice, the press, and the emails that carry someone from first signup to a funded project. You plan it, you write it, you publish it, and you report on what it did.

You write Dutch from scratch. You write English well while working with the Head of Marketing and our UK commercial lead (both UK-native).

This is not a brand role that measures itself in impressions. Content has a number here: builders who arrive through what you made and go on to run their business on Renno. You will know your cost per activated builder, and you will move it.

What You Own

  • Renno voice: You are the guardian of it in both markets. Every word that leaves the company in the Netherlands or the UK passes your standard, in Dutch and in English.
  • Content strategy and execution: You run the content lead-gen campaigns: the plan for what gets made, for which market, and why. You also run the content calendar via a social scheduler so everyone can see what is going out and when.
  • Builder content: Guides, calculators, trade-press pieces, site and counter material. Short, punchy, declarative. Built to be forwarded on a WhatsApp group of subcontractors.
  • Blog, SEO and AEO: Every article in both markets, and the search strategy behind them. You own topics, briefs and on-page work across SEO, AEO and GEO (being found in Google, and increasingly in AI answers, where a growing share of our audience now asks their questions). You will receive support from the Head of Marketing and Engineering for technical SEO.
  • Homeowner content: Warm, clear, flowing. Renovation decisions are explained before the project starts, so the homeowner arrives calm and the builder arrives paid.
  • Social media: Renno's channels in both markets: what goes out, how often and in which language. Builders live on Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp, not LinkedIn; you post where they are and you move fast when something is trending in the renovation space.
  • UGC and creator programmes: You take our current Renno creator programme and scale it. Finding creators, writing the briefs, scripting, and turning finished jobs into content the next builder trusts more than an ad.
  • Email marketing: You own our email marketing strategy and its execution in Customer.io. You write them, you send them, you report on what each one did.
  • PR and earned media: You get Renno written about in the trade and consumer press in both countries. You find the story, back it with our own data, and build the relationships with publications that make the next one easier.
  • Sales enablement: You work closely with our sales team to produce materials they use with builders and homeowners: opening messages, follow-ups, one-pagers, decks and counter material.

Tools You Will Use

You do not need to have used all of these. You should recognise most of them and be quick with the rest.

  • Analytics and search: GA4, Google Search Console, Amplitude and Semrush.
  • Email: Customer.io and HubSpot, or something comparable (Braze, Klaviyo).
  • Content creation: CapCut, Canva. This is not a design role, but you should be able to make a decent post without waiting for one.
  • CMS: A headless CMS such as Sanity, or WordPress.
  • AI tools and automation: Claude Cowork, Granola.
  • General: Notion, Slack, Google Workspace.

What Success Looks Like

First 90 days

  • You know Renno properly: the product, both sides of it, how a project actually moves from signup to final payment, and how we sound when we talk about it.
  • Renno's founder LinkedIn, company blog and social channels posting consistently in both countries.
  • Voice guide live across product, site, email and social in NL and EN, alongside rebuilt email campaigns; the first builder UGC series with real customers in both countries and an end-to-end mapped B2B lead-generation campaign.

Month 6

  • Content-sourced leads and activated builders on plan, at a cost per builder you can state.
  • Email campaigns and creator programme running steadily in both markets, with builders referring builders and you overseeing it.
  • Renno quoted in the trade press without us paying for it or doing the initial outreach.

Month 12

  • Content is the cheapest way Renno acquires a builder, in both countries.
  • A repeatable publishing and campaign system a new market can pick up.
  • Renno is the answer when a builder or homeowner searches, in Google and in AI answers.

The plan number for this role is content-sourced general contractors activated, measured against a blended cost-per-activated-builder target set with the Head of Marketing.

Who You Are

  • Five or more years in B2B content marketing, ideally for a product where the words had to generate leads, not just sound good.
  • Native Dutch and fluent English. You write both from scratch; you do not translate.
  • You have been accountable for content metrics: what you published, how it performed, what you changed as a result. Traffic and rankings, email opens and clicks, leads from gated content, signups and activations. You pull the numbers yourself and you are comfortable putting a short written report in front of people who will ask hard questions about it.
  • You can write a nine-word headline for a plumber and a warm paragraph for a nervous homeowner in the same afternoon, and you know why they are different.
  • You have run social channels and a UGC or creator programme for a brand, and can show what it did to the funnel, not the follower count.
  • You are comfortable in a CRM, a CMS, a video editor and a spreadsheet, and you would rather hit publish and measure than polish.

Who You Are Not

  • A brand storyteller with no interest in the funnel.
  • A social media manager who measures in likes. Every post here has to earn its place against activated builders.
  • Someone who needs a brief, a designer and a copywriter for every piece. You will write the briefs, create the content and publish.
  • Anyone who writes in jargon. If a builder would not say it on site, we do not say it.

Where This Goes

Renno adds a language with every country it opens. The person who builds the voice in Dutch and English is the natural Head of Content when German and French follow, with a team and a budget to match.

How We Hire

  1. A 60-minute call with Michael Oladele, our Head of Marketing, about what you have written and what it did.
  2. A short assessment. Writing is part of it; how you think about getting builders and homeowners to act is the rest.
  3. 45 minutes with Michael and Mark, our CEO, to go through your work and the plan, and to answer your questions.
  4. A written offer within 24 hours, with the plan set out in full. We call two references at the same time, one of them a former manager.

Apply

Send your CV in English and three lines on the biggest number you have personally moved to [email protected], for the attention of Michael, Head of Marketing. You can also provide a portfolio of work if you have one. Dutch and English writing samples both welcome.
