About Renno
Renno is the payment rail for renovation. Homeowners fund a project once and approve each milestone when the work is done. Builders get paid instantly, without chasing. Both sides see exactly where the money is.
We are live in Amsterdam and London and hiring the team that opens the next markets.
From Mark, CEO. Renovation is a market worth close to a trillion euros a year that still runs on chasing invoices and hoping for the best. Builders wait weeks for money they have earned. Homeowners hand over their savings with no protection. We are fixing both, one city at a time. If you want to own a number and a city, let's talk. Watch this video to learn more about the product.
The Role
You will build and run paid acquisition for Renno across the UK and the Netherlands. Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft and ChatGPT Ads to start; you decide which of them deserves budget, in which country, and you show us why with results.
This is a lead generation role. Paid ads are the instrument; qualified leads are the point. You own everything from the click to the lead landing in HubSpot: pixels, Conversions API, tagging, events, landing pages. If we cannot trace a lead back to the campaign that caused it, that is yours to fix.
What You Own
- Paid acquisition end to end. Meta, Google and ChatGPT Ads to start, in both the UK and the Netherlands. Strategy, build, creative briefs, bidding, pacing, optimisation. You are in the accounts daily driving MQLs and SQLs.
- Budget allocation. You propose the split by channel and country and defend it with numbers.
- Builder acquisition through ads. Builders do not respond to consumer advertising the way homeowners do. Find what works, cheaply, before we scale it.
- Homeowner acquisition through ads. A steady flow of homeowners actively planning a renovation, in both countries.
- Tracking and measurement. GTM, Conversions API, server-side where it matters, UTM discipline nobody has to police, clean handover into HubSpot and Amplitude. Numbers the rest of the company can trust.
- Attribution, with engineering. Built properly, maintained, and proven. Not a one-off setup.
- Landing pages. Test, learn, improve. You do not wait for a redesign to move a conversion rate.
- Creative direction. You own it, with design support. If you can make a testable variant yourself, better.
- Channel expansion. Test what nobody in renovation is doing yet, adopt what works and kill what does not. Programmatic ads sit here: display, CTV and audio become interesting once attribution is solid and there is enough traffic for retargeting to mean something. Part of this role is telling us when that moment arrives.
- Reporting. A weekly number the leadership team reads in two minutes. A monthly you can defend under hard questions.
Tools You Will Use
You do not need to have used all of these. You should recognise most and be quick with the rest.
- Primary: Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, ChatGPT Ads.
- Also: LinkedIn Ads, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok Ads, Reddit Ads, programmatic through a DSP.
- Measurement: GA4, Google Tag Manager, Meta Conversions API, HubSpot, Amplitude, Google Search Console.
- Reporting: Looker Studio or similar.
- Creative: CapCut, Canva. Not a design role, but you can ship a variant without waiting for one.
- AI tools and automation: Claude Cowork, Granola.
- General: Notion, Slack, Google Workspace.
What Success Looks Like
First 90 days
- You know Renno properly: both sides of the product, how a project actually moves from signup to final payment, and who we are talking to in each country.
- Active MQLs coming through paid channels, with attribution working end to end.
- Campaigns live in both the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Month 6
- At least one additional paid channel added, tested properly, and scaled if promising.
- Clear numbers on what is working and what is not, by channel and by market.
- A cost per lead through paid channels that you can state, stand behind, and have moved.
This is not an awareness role. It is lead generation. We will measure success by the number of quality leads acquired through paid channels, in both markets, at a mutually agreed upon sensible price.
Who You Are
- Three or more years running paid acquisition hands on, either agency side or in house.
- You have personally managed at least £250,000 of spend.
- You wire up your own tracking. GTM, Conversions API, server-side if the job calls for it.
- You have inherited imperfect data and imperfect attribution before, and you fixed it rather than waiting for someone else to.
- You can look at a campaign that is not working, see the problem, and design the experiment that answers it.
- You can write an ad. In renovation the creative decides the result far more than the bid strategy does.
- You use AI to produce and test creative at volume, and you can say where it made things better and where it made them worse.
- You are comfortable running two countries at once and being measured on leads, not clicks.
- Programmatic experience is a plus. If you have run a DSP and had to defend the numbers afterwards, we want to hear about it.
Who You Are Not
- An agency account manager who briefs rather than builds.
- Someone who reports platform ROAS without checking whether the conversion was real.
- A brand or awareness buyer. Every campaign here comes back with qualified leads attached.
- Someone who needs clean data, a full creative team and a finished brand book before they can start.
Where This Goes
You are the first growth hire. Get this right in two markets and you build the paid engine for every market we open after them, with the team and budget to match.
How We Hire
- A 60-minute call with Michael, our Head of Marketing, about the accounts you have run and the numbers you have moved.
- A short assessment. You get our actual situation and constraints, and tell us what you would do first.
- 45 minutes with Michael and Mark, our CEO, to go through your plan and answer your questions.
- A written offer within 24 hours, with the plan set out in full. We call two references at the same time, one of them a former manager.
